Tis the Season of Giving - Gifts that Make A Difference

Little Moyebi was abandoned as a tiny kitten, only days old.  Lifeless and barely breathing, hourly care by the staff and volunteers of Animals Lebanon brought him back to health and gave him his first chance to truly be a playful kitten.  Moyebi is now full of life and love, and will spend his first holiday season with the warmth and care of his new family.Christmas CardMoyebi is just one of the many animals we have rescued, brought back to health, and placed in a loving home.  In the few short months since Animals Lebanon became a registered charity we have started the first ever TNR program in Lebanon, and have become deeply involved in supporting our community through animals.During this time of goodwill, Animals Lebanon has two special offers to make your support go the extra mile.  With your care and contribution, we will end this year on a wonderful note for our animals, and have a great start to 2009.

Here’s How You Can Make A Difference This Christmas:

For your donation of $20 or more you will receive a special holiday card to give as a gift to your loved ones.   Make an ethical gift in someone’s honor and give them the Animals Lebanon holiday card featuring Little Moyebi – a present that is truly touching!

If the card is not for you, you can ask us to ‘add 40%’ to your donation.  Throughout December, the Founders and Director of Animals Lebanon will personally add 40% to your donation.  If you give $100, then Animals Lebanon will add $40, give $1,000 and we will add $400.  Your support during this time can do more than ever before!

Click here to add your support, and don’t forget to choose the ‘holiday card’ or to ‘add 40%’ to your contribution. Donate before January 1st and your generosity will do so much more!

Animals Lebanon – wishing you, your pets and all animals happiness and health this holiday season!

Orchid and his 5 siblings…
 I Am Orchid

“The day my five other siblings and I were born we thought we were so lucky to be in such playful company and an amazing -stray- mother who served to feed and protect us no matter what… She’s a beautiful pointer fathered by a Rottweiler -who belongs to a family-, I have to admit, great combination, I mean look at me, I’m gorgeous!! Everything was going so well till one day, almost three weeks after we were born, a tall moving creature which I know now was human, took us in his arms and threw us far away from our mother.  At first I thought “Hey check us out, we’re flying”!!! Obviously we weren’t flying!! We landed somewhere strange to us and we didn’t know where our mother was but we waited and waited until we could wait no more.  The only way we could survive was to look for food and shelter as best we know how, but we didn’t know much at all, I mean we were only 3 WEEKS OLD! How could we possibly know anything at all? My brother was crossing a road when he got run over by a speeding vehicle and died an agonizing death. Two other of my siblings starved to death right in front of me.  I didn’t even know what to think, but I felt so much pain from the sore sight of my siblings dying and the mere thought that my other two siblings and I were soon to follow this very fate. We were lucky to have other humans who cared enough to look for us and find us in the horrific conditions we were in.  We were nursed back to good health, my brother and sister got adopted, although I miss them very very much, I’m so happy for them.  But now it’s my turn. Will you adopt me? Will you play with me? My name is Orchid, I like that name, I think it suits me, what do you think?”

Surviving Puppies

Yet another inevitable fate of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens due to massive reproduction taking place in Lebanon.  The Rottweiler in this story is one with a good home and family, just one problem! He’s not fixed and has access to the outdoors, which is how he got a stranded female pointer pregnant, which in turn resulted in 6 puppies, 3 dead, 2 adopted (luckily) and one still looking for a loving home. Is that fair for the puppies of Lebanon or the world? Is it fair that Orchid had to see her brothers and sisters die and barely live after starving for days before they were found? We all know the answer to that and we also know how we can help in having less and less of these stories and less and less of starving homeless innocent and hurt animals on the streets.  Spaying and Neutering helps solve the solution. BETA’s principle strongly supports this act by spaying and neutering as many animals as they financially can.  You can help by contributing to this movement!

Orchid is now boarding with a BETA member. She’s a one month old female who’s very playful and smart, simply looking for loving and safe home.
