June has been an outstandingly rainy month here in NYC.  As of now, its the third rainiest June on record!!  We did have some sunny days, or at least portions of days…and we enjoyed our yard and garden when we could.  Here are some pictures of it part-way through all the rain, its much bigger now!  Here’s to hoping that July and August will be beautiful, and not 100 degrees :-)

its been a gorgeous spring this year, especially after the dissapointment of last spring/summer…when it was nice for a short time, then constant rain for over a month, then boiling heat making for a lovely swamp atmosphere…yeah, that was fun. all the flowers/veggies drowned and then were just pratically boiled to death. so this year has been great thus far. here is a chronical of our garden to date!

bucky was so excited for spring, he made a brand new pergola, in just one day!!

My very good friend Kelsey got married to a very wonderful match, Frank, last weekend, April 25, 2009.  It was a beautiful ceremony at Palmor Vineyards on Long Island and was followed by a very fun, very east coast, reception at The Watermill.  It was so fun, I’m so happy to see Kelsey happy and moving on to the next stage of her life.  My brother was in attendance as well as mine & Kelsey’s good friend Jake from Durango.  Here are some of my favorite pics!

well…its been a week since I’ve been back…and man, do i miss it.  i dont know what it is about san diego, but i love it there.  i always have this overwhelming sense of peace while i’m there.  i think its a combination of the beautiful weather, the sweet smell of salt in the air, the amazing flowers that bloom all  year, the calmness the ocean provides, and i think most importantly…having my family around.  my grandma lives in la jolla and my aunt jan in del mar.  and usually coinciding with my trips to california, my mom and my aunt susy come out from colorado.  living on the east coast, so far away from everyone…it feels great to have them around.  anyway, following are just a speckle of the photos my mom and i took during our trip.  enjoy!

Sometimes you have friends that come into your life for a short period of time, but make a life long impression on you.  Montana was one of those people for me.  Montana and I met working at the movie theater.  She was younger than me, and from a very Mormon family.  When we met she was herself a practicing Mormon…though she knew there was more to life, more to being, than what the religion taught.  We became fast friends, it was an instant bond.  We laughed endlessly and had a ridiculous good time together.

Montana was anxious to get out of her house, so she moved in with Kelsey and I.  Kelsey was to be moving out in a couple of months…heading off to live in NYC, so I was in need of a roommate anyhow.  Montana totally fit the bill.  She gradually moved away from her Mormonism to realize that there was so much more to her than that.  Over the course of just about two years…we were inseparable.

Coming from the background she had, Montana taught me a lot about myself.  In discussing life, love, and the prospects of the earth…she really helped me to realize what my own beliefs were.  She influenced me greatly in how I live my life today, how I came into my own.  By the time I left Durango to move to NYC myself, Montana and I were growing apart.  We had been friends in transition from one part of our lives to another.  We are both completely different individuals now than we were when we met…but we made that journey together, and I will never forget her and the times we had.  The following pictures are just a tiny glimpse into some of our adventures together.  Love you forever Montana!!

Seal was the second kittie to join my family.  When I was in thrid grade my friend Cara’s cat had two kittens.  Seal was so funny, she was this little gray thing and lo and behold, she wouldn’t walk right!  She would drag her back legs around like she was a seal (thus the name).  The Dr’s said nothing was wrong with her, and she eventually grew out of it…but it was pretty silly.

Seal was for sure a one of a kind.  When she was a kitten she was tiny…but boy did she grow, and I mean grow big and fat.  She got tons of excercise…she was just very rotund!  I would have LOVED to squeeze her belly but for most of her life she really didn’t like to be pet, she got along fine with the other cats and dog but just wasn’t so into humans.  We respected her space, and she enjoyed it.  She lived a wonderfully happy life.  When she got a little older she finally came around, she decided that maybe we were not so bad after all.  She let us pet her and in the end, she even became a lap cat.

Seal passed on when she was around 10 years old.  She was a good cat, spunky and hearty…she will be in my memory forever.  Love you Seal!!

well, another year has come and gone!  amazing, i’m not quite sure where the time goes, but all we can do is make the best of it.  i’ve had a lovely holiday season this year, though i missed my family.  none of us were able to travel this year.  its hard, some are in california, some in colorado, and me and my brother are here in new york.  but, we made the best of it.  barely having to work over a two week time span was super, i relaxed, i painted, i read, i cleaned, i went to KittyKind a lot, and i hung out with wonderful friends.  here are some super pics of the last two weeks of 2008.

it was christmas for the kitties too!!  they loved their gifts :)
